Announcement regarding the customs clearance of new diesel vehicles (2.0 liters and below) under the framework of change of residence

The Embassy of Algeria in Oslo informs all members of the Algerian community residing in Norway that a transitional arrangement has been adopted and will remain in force until 30 June 2026.

This measure allows the customs clearance of new diesel vehicles within the framework of the change of residence, prior to the entry into force of the new provisions of the Finance Law 2026.

In this context, citizens concerned who wish to benefit from this exceptional measure are required to submit the necessary supporting documents to prove that the acquisition of a diesel vehicle, with an engine capacity not exceeding 2.0 liters, was completed before 1 January 2026, within the framework of the change of residence, and in accordance with the conditions set out in the Finance Law.

Such documents include, but are not limited to:

Purchase invoice
Order form
Proof of partial payment of the vehicle price
Any other document demonstrating the acquisition of the vehicle
