H.E. Ambassador CHIR Kamel

Ambassador of Algeria to Norway  

CHIR Kamel is Algeria’s Ambassador to Norway. He assumed his position on 1st June 2023. Prior to this, he served as   Deputy Head of Mission with the rank of Minister Counsellor at the Embassy of Algeria in Italy (2020-2023). He had previously held the position of Deputy Director of Human Rights and humanitarian affairs at the ministry of foreign affairs (2016-2020). He worked as First Secretary at Algeria’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York from 2010 to 2015, where he covered issues related to human rights and peace and security.

CHIR Kamel holds a Master degree in international studies from Korea University and a bachelor degree in international relations from the university of Algiers. He  speaks Arabic, English, French and Italian.
