commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the May 8, 1945 massacres

In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the May 8, 1945 massacres, and under the theme: "Memory Day... A Witnessed Day for a Promised Era", the Embassy of Algeria in Norway held today a remembrance gathering, attended by members of the Algerian national community.

The event began with the playing of the national anthem "Qassaman," followed by a minute of silence in tribute to the martyrs of the massacres, and the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha in their memory.
